BOTB Starts Tomorrow

Are you getting excited yet? In less than 24 hours we will be playing some banked track roller derby.

All the preparation, planning and the hard work that the L.A. Derby Dolls and the RDCL have put in to to this tournament is coming to fruition. Right now the final pieces of the preliminary setup is happening at the Doll Factory, the referees are together and discussing what crews they will be working on and the participating skaters are currently traveling to L.A. or have already arrived.

There are so many people that are making this event happen. The Derby Dolls skaters, referees from all of the RDCL leagues and some that are not part of RDCL, parents of the juniors, friends and family, volunteers from many other  leagues (banked and flat) are helping make this happen. If you have a chance while you’re at BOTB, take a moment to say thank you to one of the many, many volunteers. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to put on such a great event.

There is still time to purchase your tickets to watch live at the Battle on the Bank website. If you can’t get to the Doll Factory, we will be streaming it live at http://derbydolls.com/webcast/.

The juniors will start the day out at 1pm and the adults start their day at 6pm (pacific time).

We will attempt to post scores on our website during the weekend, so check back here.

BOTB VI starts THIS Friday

We’re less than 3 days away from the start for Battle on the Bank VI. We’ve got seven adult teams and six junior teams that will be battling it out to claim first place.

Doors open on Friday at noon. We’ll start the day out with the juniors game at 1pm. We’ll then take a break and the adult games will start at 6pm. All games, except for Sunday, will be half games. They will consist of two 15 minute quarters with a 5 minute break in between. Sunday’s game will be full length bouts.

We have put together a game bracket for both the juniors and adults that you can fill in as the games play out. (downloadable Junior bracket and Adult bracket)

If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet for this event, go to Battle on the Bank VI website to purchase them now.

BOTB VI

BOTB VI is quickly approaching and we are all excited to be a part of this venture. Even though this is the sixth banked track tournament, there are a lot of firsts happening:

– This will be the first BOTB that will be run by the RDCL.
– The first time that there are only banked track leagues participating.
– The first time there will be Juniors that will be battling out for first place instead of just having an expo bout.
– There will be new banked track leagues participating for the first time.

The LA Derby Dolls, celebrating 10 years of derby, are hosting BOTB VI in their amazing venue this year. They have put together some great ticketing packages, will have great vendors, and the participating teams will provide plenty of action.

Please go to the Battle on the Bank website to get your tickets, schedules and other information.
